The turn is off Route 574 at Rif, two kilometres east of Hellissandur, and the building announces itself: a former fish processing factory on the harbour road, now a hostel with a professional theatre inside it. Arrivals park free, including on the street. Evenings are the reason to be here. The bar and shared lounge fill up, the communal kitchen handles dinner because Rif has no restaurant, and in summer a weekly schedule runs in the theatre with complimentary tickets for guests covering performances, live music and game nights. Dormitories keep simple retro furnishings, look out over the surrounding countryside and share bathrooms. Outside there is an outdoor fireplace, a picnic area, a terrace and a garden, plus a spa lounge and relaxation area. Hiking and fishing start at the door.
