Couples and families who want a self-contained apartment will enjoy Miðsker 1: a kitchenette, a dining area, a sofa and a private bathroom, with a balcony looking over the lake, garden and mountains. Free private parking and WiFi remove small hassles. It is an apartment, so there is no restaurant or front desk. I would book it as a calm, well-rated base in Höfn.
