About this stay

Fjord Guesthouse runs a ground-floor bed and breakfast with four bedrooms and a shared bathroom, 14 km from Ísafjörður Airport along Route 61. Sea, patio, garden and mountain views come through the windows depending on the room, and a sun terrace and shared kitchen give guests outdoor space and a place to cook without relying on the village's limited restaurant hours outside the short summer season. Outdoor seating and barbecue facilities extend the terrace further, and hiking trails leave close to the property for guests wanting a walk before dinner. The Súðavík Museum and Súðavík Church both sit within easy walking distance, two of the village's few dedicated sights, and free on-site private parking rounds out a property built for value over private facilities throughout the stay.

Our take

Fjord Guesthouse is a four-bedroom bed and breakfast on Route 61 in Súðavík, 14 km from Ísafjörður Airport, with sea, garden and mountain views, a sun terrace and a shared kitchen. The shared bathroom is the real trade-off, not the location or the view. I would choose it for a solo road-tripper or budget traveller happy to share facilities; families wanting a private bathroom should book Sudavik guesthouse, a short walk away.

  • ✓Book early, the small five-review count suggests fewer rooms than the larger guesthouse nearby.
  • ✓Walk to the Súðavík Museum first, it's a five-minute stroll and worth the short detour.
  • ✓Use the shared kitchen for dinner, the guesthouse's own rate doesn't include meals.

Why we love it

  • Sun terrace with sea and mountain views
  • Walking distance to the Súðavík Museum
  • Shared kitchen for self-catering
  • Village's lowest-cost stay by rate
Why guests love it

The sun terrace over the garden made up for the walk down the hall to the shared bathroom, and the price stretched further than anywhere else we found in Súðavík. We walked to the Súðavík Museum on the first afternoon, a five-minute stroll from the door, and cooked dinner in the shared kitchen since the guesthouse's own rate left more budget for the rest of the Westfjords loop.
